John Dimaio has been a self employed advertising, portrait and wedding photographer for more than 25 years. After obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photographic illustration, with honors, form the Rochester Institute of Technology and an Master of Fine arts degree in fine art photography from the Tyler School of art in Rome, Italy, John went on to develop an international reputation as an artist and commercial photographer.

Having returned home to South Jersey after living and working in Rome, New York, Philadelphia, and most recently 12 years in Portland, Oregon, John has opened a studio in Northfield and set as his goal to transform the wedding and portrait photography business in South Jersey. "The most common complaints I hear from brides are, #1, that shopping for a wedding photographer is to complicated, and #2, that photographers 'take over' their wedding day".

"My goal is to simplify the entire process for the bride and groom". I offer a straight forward hourly rate for my services, and an a la carte menu of competitively priced prints and albums.  The bride and groom no longer need to compare one photographer's "platinum" package with another studio's "Golden Memories" package. You simply choose the prints and albums that you want, nothing more.

"My approach to photographing a wedding has always been the same, to follow and record the events of the entire day  as they unfold, to intrude as little as possible, and to capture the simple elegance that is unique to each family and each wedding day. It has become popular lately to call this approach "journalistic" or "documentary". I have always thought of myself as simply an unobtrusive, natural part of the process. I photograph each wedding, and each bride and groom, as though they have been my best friends and neighbors for life. My goal is not to make cookie cutter albums, but to get to know each bride and groom and give them exactly what they want."
